Prior to founding BE Capital John was Managing Director, Head of Media, Communications & Technology Group, Investment & Corporate Banking at BMO Capital Markets. He has 15 years experience in the Communications & Technology investment-banking sector. He joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in April of 2001 having spent the previous five years focusing on Communications & Technology investment banking at RBC Dominion Securities. With over 15 years of business development experience, Doel has held leadership roles in software sales and marketing, consulting services, and technology product sales at a number of companies including SAP and Lexmark/IBM. Doel is currently an advisor and investor in several Canadian and international technology ventures and is a founding member of the Maple Leaf Angels investment group in Toronto. |
| Stephen Gesner, Member | Gesner is the Executive Vice President and CIO at Resolve Corporation, a business process outsourcing company for the financial services, government, retail, consumer goods, and communications industries. Previously, Gesner was the Chief Information Officer at Meridian Credit Union where he was responsible for Information Technology, Solutions Development, Operations, and the Project Management Office. He began his career with Ford Motor Company of Canada where he spent nine years before joining TD Bank Financial Group where he spent 14 years holding a variety of executive roles in both business and IT. The last three years of his TD experience was in the role of Chief Technology Officer where he focused on the utilization of technology to enable business solutions. |
| Ismail Pishori, Member As Vice President, Financial Services Industry Marketing, Ismail brings an impressive wealth of industry experience and knowledge to this role. Ismail develops and champions the financial services industry vertical marketing strategy and take-to-market plans, creates and drives thought leadership in strategic areas for the vertical, leverages current capabilities and solutions that exist within TELUS, and position them in the vertical. Working with the Product Management and Solutions Development teams, Ismail drives vertical solutions from ideas into action.
Ismail is a fifteen-year IT industry veteran – mostly focused on the financial services industry - with management, sales, marketing, business development, solution development, corporate development, merger integration, and alliance management experience. Most recently, he was Worldwide GM, Financial Markets Segment, Financial Services Industry, at Hewlett-Packard.
Ismail holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, an Industrial Engineering degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, as well as a diploma in Engineering from Dalhousie University. |
